Having a bonsai does not bring bad luck. However, if the tree dies and you replace it and it dies again, then the location of where the plant was situated might not be good. Feng Shui is about chi or energy. Bonsai trees are plants with living energies.

One way we assessed the level of energy in a home is by looking at the plant life both inside and outside the home. If the plants are doing well and thriving, it means that there are good energy in the home. However, if plants keep dying and can’t survive in the home, then the energy is not good. Plants are more sensative to the environmental energy then we are, so plants are a good way to assess the type of energy in the home.

One thing about Bonsai is that you need to nurture it. It is not your typical house plant. So treat it well and watch it thrive. With thriving plants there will be thriving good energy emitted by the plant.

So enjoy your bonsai and good luck.

Romeo, Like Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) said to Noriyuki "Pat" Morita in the movie, The Karate Kid, "Bonsai!!!" I think its supposed to bring good luck and you’re supposed to kiss underneath it around the Holidays, right?

Actually it depends on the type of Bonsai tree you have, if its an indoor tree then your fine but if it’s outdoor then you will have a dead Bonsai sooner or later. I lived in Japan and actually there they believe that fairies reside in bonsai trees. They are mischievous so the best place was to have the tree outdoors, that way the faeries would not bother the inside of your home. it is also believed by some people in Japan that spirits of the dead are attracted to the Bonsai, so in order to keep spirits outside of your home again place the tree outside.
